“The U.S. food systems play a significant role in shaping both national and global food and nutrition security…The path forward necessitates a collective and robust response involving diverse stakeholders, including health care professionals, food industries, individuals, and policy makers, to foster innovations and adopt sustainable practices aimed at overhauling the food landscape. It is through such collaborative and innovative efforts that we can transition towards a future where food systems bolster health outcomes rather than detract from them.”
— Excerpt from the 2024 U.S. Health and the Future of Food report from Deloitte, ResearchAmerica! and the ÌÇÐÄVlog
Stepping Stones for Food System Transformation
The ÌÇÐÄVlog convenes the Industry Nutrition Forum to cultivate understanding of food system challenges, foster innovative solutions thinking, and catalyze action to improve public health. Participants include nutrition and food science leaders across the food industry, academia, government and non-profit sectors. As part of our ongoing efforts, we regularly update the Industry Nutrition Forum to support progress toward a food system that prioritizes sustainable nutrition for good health. Since 2020, the forum has engaged in a collaborative process to create Stepping Stones for Food System Transformation. Together, we examine current food system barriers to health, equity and sustainability. Prioritize challenges for which INF members and the AHA have complementary strengths and influence to contribute. Advance progress through dialogue, thought leadership and action.
